The module is a design studio that emphasizes the idea of ‘place-making for the urban communities. The emphasis in this module will be on exploring the notion of ‘place-making’ and architecture that respond to urban responsive design approach. Developing your design thinking as an architectural narrative, forming proposals in poetic expressions in further expanding the richness and fulfilling the needs of present and futures ahead of the context.

PHASE 1.1
Preliminary studies – Townscape Appraisal
The first project, Preliminary Studies, is a preparatory task that investigates the character of a
place (town or city) and architecture for place-making through the ‘Townscape Assessment’
PHASE 1.2
Urban Intervention
Urban intervention refers to intentional actions and strategies designed to improve, transform, or engage public spaces within a city. The goal is to create more livable, sustainable, and inclusive urban environments.
PHASE 2.1 & 2.2
Kp. Attap Learning Center
From now on, students will concentrate on designing an Learning center in Kp. Attap within an urban context. The design of the building is to consist of appropriate architectural responses that address the aspects of the urban street context and user behavioural patterns.
